At Battman and Sons you will find a great range of Herbaceous Border plants, Alpines and bulbs .

The best time to restock or to create a new Herbaceous Border is in the Spring months of April and May. This is when the widest range of plants is available and with the whole of the growing season ahead, the young plants will get well established. There is such a wide range of varieties you will be able to create a border which can give a flowering display all through the Summer and into the Autumn.

Alpines can be planted in the Spring to replace those plants that may have perished during the winter, this is when the widest variety of plants is on offer. Whether you are creating a full Alpine rockery or a simple container display, with early flowering Arabis to the late flowering Thymus you can enjoy a colourful Alpine garden throughout the Spring.

To fill your garden with a mass of Spring Flowering Bulbs then the time to plant is in the Autumn. Bought as dry bulbs in September and October the bulbs will flower from as early as January with Snowdrops and Crocus,and give a great display into May with late flowering Tulips. It is also possible to get partly grown bulbs in February and March from Battman and Sons.When planted to grow together with spring flowering bedding plants you will create a riot of colour!
